My No-Go List

Hi friends,

I like to talk about poisons a lot. Poisons in my world, damage your gut health and damage your overall health. I write extensively about them in my book. But, for those who want a quick list, here it is!

Oils and Fats:

  • Processed Fat

  • Trans Fat

  • Non-butter spreads

  • Canola Oil

  • Soybean Oil

  • Grapeseed Oil

  • Safflower Oil

  • “Vegetable Oil”

  • Cottonseed Oil

Added Sugar / Sweeteners:

  • Added sugar (yes honey and maple syrup are still sugar and I do eat them, but in small amounts)

  • Artificial sweeteners (Aspartame, Sucralose, Acesulfame K, Saccharin and more!)

  • Fat-free products: If the product is supposed to contain fat, then eat the natural product, not a fat free version. Fat free products contain fillers, chemicals, sugar, and/or sweeteners.

  • Artificial flavor

  • Buzzword junk food: processed food labels keto/paleo/sugar-free/etc. are still processed foods

Artificial / Chemicals:

  • Nitrites

  • Nitrates

  • Potassium bromate

  • Propyl Paraben

  • BHA

  • Propyl gallate

  • Theobromine

  • Artificial coloring

  • Diacetyl

  • Phosphates

  • Aluminum

  • Many more artificial additives

Junk Food:

  • Fast food

  • Candy

  • Ice cream

  • Frozen yogurt

  • Fried food

  • Processed food
